  1. Awareness

Noticing what is. Observing thoughts, feelings, and surroundings.

2. Curiosity

Asking questions about your awareness. Wondering what else you can do with it. Exploring possibilities.

3. Meta-Awareness

Awareness + Curiosity > Meta-Awareness. Realizing that you are aware. Observing your own noticing and reflecting on what you find.

4. Agency / Intentionality

Choosing where to focus your attention and how to respond intentionally. Life design. Intentional time. Chosen focus, chosen boundaries for yourself.

5. Application / Practice

Putting insights from meta-awareness and agency into concrete actions.

6. Evolution

Integrating found growth into your life.

7. Reflect

Reflecting on your growth and preparing for the next cycle.

8.  Reciprocate

Repeat. Iterating the cycle continuously not to grow or expand.

Note:

  • Can also be a mini-cycle (a droste). You might start at 5 and reciprocate (loop back into yourself) from there. Maybe the mini cycle is 3-5. Who knows! I just wanted to point out this is more like a rhizomic staircase than a circle.

  • Spend a while focusing on steps and mini cycles. This is made with ventures that last weeks or months in mind.

  • Can be done as entries or be journaling ventures on their own.

Mini Lexicon

Droste

A picture that has a picture of itself in it and in that picutre, there is also another picture of itself. With each loop, the inner picture appear smaller. (Metaphorically similar to the can of Droste cocoa).

Rhizomic (In journaling)

Interconnectedness that flows in many directions. All points connect to one another.
